Dips to play Rajini’s love interest
Currently, when the cast and crew of Rana met the media, Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone disclosed that she had not even thought of acting with the Superstar of South Indian film industry when she was approached by KS Ravikumar to portray Rajinikanth’s love interest. The actress mentioned that it’s a dream come true, as she had never dreamt of it and that she is very excited to make her debutant movie in Tamil opposite one and only Rajinikanth.
While communicating to the press the actress also said that she has she watched only Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai starrer Robot and was impressed by the star’s performance! ‘Rana’ is a period movie setting it’s story in the seventeenth century where Deepika Padukone will enact a typical South-Indian beauty. All her outfits for the film have been designed by ace designer Neeta Lulla. Neeta Lulla had also designed costumes for Bollywood period films like ‘Devdas’ and ‘Jodhaa Akbar,’ before I forget, even those movies featured Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the lead role! Deepika’s first ever outward show as a South-Indian damsel has only amplified more opportunity for the movie! Deepika Padukone is excited to share the screen space with Rajinikanth for the first time in Rana.
The actress said that she never even planned of playing the Superstar’s leading lady.The actress told that when she was offered Rana, she felt that such a big chance may not come to her in the future again. Deepika added that she had seen only one Rajini film so far and she was so impressed by his performance and immediately gave her nod to do the film for which she will be seen in a complete makeover.. After giving an outstanding performance in Dum Maaro Dum, the actress will be seen starred in Desi Boyz and Aarakshan, these films are scheduled to get release this year!!!
